I thought it was deformed. Its $550AU which is very cheap for a royal over here, but I don't want to spend that kind of money for it to die early..

Thanks, I guess I'll have to keep looking.. Pretty shattered i was keen on getting it but i thought I'd ask you guys since you can pick them up at the LFS regularly in numbers and would have a much better idea on quality.

Does anyone else think that its shape will affect its grow and health long term?

It looks Short Bodied. Growth for SBs aren't as large as their normal variant and they usually tend to have some form of health issues since all their organs and bone structure are "squished."

looks deformed :/ and i think senegal bichirs would make good tank mates
