my mom use to tell me, each time I get a new fish, something else dies. So all these years I never listened to her, and she is still usually right...something dies.

Yup, found it dead with something sticking out of its anus, can't tell whether it's feces or intestine...that suckssorry for you loss. is that something coming out of its anus or a crack ?
Is that a hint?
