Quite often the color and patterns change as they grow. Sometimes an ugly duckling looks like a swan, and sometimes you'll buy a very nice pup and it might turn out to be pretty fugly when it is full grown. Check out spotfin's thread on his marble- not the prettiest pup, but definitely turned out to be quite the looker.

Show me ONE Marble where the pattern became LESS desireable with age. Most improve. I have yet to see one become less desireable. Would love to be proven wrong though.
