I agree KKPs are cute, but that weird not working-mouth throws me off, they should be culled haha. The first time I saw one w/ that mouth I asked the LFS manager if we should euthanize it, because I thought it was just a really messed up fish, and he goes Nah most of em look like that. Then I looked into parrots and realized how messed up they are, only ones I'd ever own is mammon or KKP.

@sema guess I have been, I of course do not anymore and any hole in the lid is filled in my pothos.. I have worried about my rope fish literally being able to like use the pathos as a ladder and just slither out.. hasn't happened 4 months after I got him so its chill, anyone ever have a rope just slither up something?

I've owned ropes for years now. They are escape artists. The only defense that seems to work for me is duct tape. Tape every hole or opening. Come in all sorts of colors now. I use black. Matches my aquariums. Good luck!

+1 I use duck tape I actually used half a roll one time. I was rearranging things on the back of my tank (filter in-take/out-take locations) and I guess didn't tighten the back enough. Luckily I was close to the tank when I heard him jump. After that I duck-taped the hell out of the tank. I ducked taped the lights to the tank and the tank to the stand and the filters to the tank. Haha I was going crazy with it.

No doubt about it, that blue senegal was dyed. No ETHICAL person sells them, the practice has an immediate 40-60% mortality rate, with a reduced life expectancy for the survivors. And the color FADES, it doesn't last. There are a few unethical methods of adding color to fish, explained here:

http://www.fishchannel.com/fish-exclusives/fama/conservation-corner/avoid-dyed-or-painted-fish.aspx

There is one exception, genetically modified fish, such as GloFish®. The original GloFish® were zebra danios created to detect pollution. These fish have had their genetic makeup altered a adding fluorescence gene to the fish from another species and not only retain their color, but breed true(their offspring are colored as well, something NOT true of dyed or tattooed fish!)

Note the trademark symbol ®. IF yours DO breed, be aware that it is ILLEGAL to intentionally breed OR sell these genetically modified fish without a license from their original creators, which are basically NEVER granted. Selling these fish is a very good way to get into a lot of trouble financially, instead of making a few bucks, you can end up owing many thousands, plus court costs. Their creators are well known in fish circles for pursuing any and all cases that come to their attention.
