I was contacted by one of the lfs in my city and he said that he had just gotten in 2 royal yellow discus. I had never heard of them so I went over there and took a look, and WOW they're beutiful. The owner had them selling for $40 so I thought this was a amazing deal and took one, along with a brilliantly coloured pigeon clood and red turcoise ($30 for these two)!!! The owner told me that he had never heard of them and said that yellow was a rare colour in discus. I just got them today, but ill take pics soon, any1 heard of these???

Yah, if I recall correctly every single yellow base discus came from only one fish. The shots I saw of the look very cool.

I got fam and stuff over but ill get a pic asap, it's amazing and i think after boxing day im going to grab the second one that was there.

Can't wait to see this beauty. Not a bad price at all, my lfs sells normal discus for the price of your new royal. Yellow discus are very rare.

great deal..lfs just got a couple in yesterday and is selling them for the same price
i hope to pick them up sometime soon!
and may i add thats a
great looking discus!

Looks pretty good. Does he ever show peppering, or is he always a constant yellow? He does look to be a little stunted though, so get your water changes up, and keep feeding a lot of high quality foods.

doesn't have a single spot of peppering on his body, and how do you know he's stunted??? he looks normal and healthy to me.

Eye size compared to the body size shows that he has been stunted some. It isn't a lot of stunting yet, and probably can be turned around, but good water params and good food is extremely important.
