Thanks for all the compliments guys... While we're at it here, what do you all feed your Royals? What should the bulk of his diet be?

What can I expect for a growth rate?

Are they typically nocturnal or active during the day as well?

Are they aggressive toward other plecs?

I have two. Besides the wood they also eat zucchini, spinach, sweet potatoe, fish and shrimp. Tend to prefer the dimmer areas of the tank.

^^^Agreed. They grow SLOOOOOWWWW!!!! Mine has grown just over an inch in a year. I have had mine in with a gibby in the past with no serious issues. I feed the same foods as Dragonfish but mine favors peas the most.
