LC I agree that the snake needs more hides and cover of some sort.

Also, you might want to place your temp/humidity guages lower, towards the floor of the cage since that's where your snake spends most of its time - getting a reading at the very top of the cage where the snake never is isn't exactly the most accurate thing, right?

While I do think that the tank is too big, with the right amount of cover and hides you may be able to get away with it since it is a boa and they aren't as easily stressed as other species (like ball pythons).

How many 55's do you have man? I don't know where you put all that stuff!

I know nothing, but a 55 is too big for a boa?

A baby boa, yes....a full grown boa...of course not, lol...

Its not like in fishkeeping where you put the smallest fish in the biggest tank possible and they love you for it...quite the opposite with most reptiles.

Look at it from the animals eyes. If you were a tiny baby snake in a rainforest full of jaguars, tegus, eagles, monkeys, peccaries, ocelots, piranhas, anacondas, bushmasters, tarantulas, and who knows what else, youd want a pretty damn good hide.

L.C. just get as much hiding spots in there that you can. Small rubber maids that are only a few inches tall work well with a hole cut in the side.

Although the setup needs improvement...its not as bad with this animal as with some before...baby steps...I just hope he keeps this one long enough to see the difference a proper setup makes.

Dude, invest in some plastic food containers as hides... it is not really that hard to make the best setup for boa constrictors. Eventually once they get bigger you can start using kitty litter boxes.

We have told him with all his animals to get decent hides so many times before, so either hes a thick dumbass or jut doesn't give a crap 'bout his animals!

If you can only provide like two hides (or thats all your willing to provide) put it in a smaller enclosure dude.

Like she said, LC, If we tell you to do someting in general wih one animal, it normaly applies with all of them....
