lol when youn want to clean your tank you don't have to move your fishes when cleaning the tank! xD if you move them to another tank you just stressing them out and they just lose their appetite cause all of the major changes in its surroundings

How do you clean the tank , I always save half the water and move them out then clean the gravel and glass walls and then fill it half way with clean water and then put the old water that i saved and the fish back in? I was always told at the fish store to save half of the water for some reason? please help , i have started trying to become more serious at this fish keeping thing and im getting a big tank soon and making a stand and putting some money in to these fish, i really like my fish i don't want to hurt them , whats the easiest way to change the water so he is not stressed out.

Thanks Miranda

O and I move them out to clean the gravel and scrub every 2 3 months , but i do water changes were i leave them in the tank every week or two.

well its ok to do 50% water changes for these poop machines to lower the ammonia produced by the masses of pooped left by these guys...and to just bring the nit. down a bit....but only add the some tap water that has just been dechlorinated...with like those dissolvable aquarium salt...and or those stress coat or stress zyme....then mix it well to have the whole tap water chlorine and chloramine free...but make sure the tap water your dechlorinating is the same or as close to the same temerature as the original tank was...so their isnt any temperature difference...so by doing this you will most likely make you RTC and whatever other inhabitants you have in the tank noticing nothing changed....which concludes by having a less stressed fish. Oh and one more thing...when you add those medications to the tap water and then pouring it in the tank...your also helping more beneficial bacteria to grow more and help heal you occupants heal off any injury or diseases or anything parasitic in or on them or around the tank. Hope this helps =]

First rule of keeping fish ... Move them as little as possible as it stresses them (some fish handle it better then others but for the most part it's wise not to move them)

Using a python or a gravel vac of some type does not require you to remove the fish and you can clean the glass with the water in the tank as well... just requires you to get your hands/arms wet...

From what I see your doing a great job of cleaning the tank however your putting in more work and stress than is needed to get the job done.
