I have a RTC of about 6 inches who lives in a 200L tank for the moment. Is there a chance I can introduce 2 alligator Gars 5 inches to the same tank for the moment . .I plan to shift them all to a bigger tank soon ?

nope, not a wise decision. growth rates on both fishes are extremely fast, but don't match up and will only cause problems as they grow/develop. would highly suggest skipping the combo.--

I have my Spotted gars and my Tiger Shovelnose cats living together now. They've been together for about a year now and grown together very peacefully for me. Maybe I just got really lucky, but I didnt have any problems with the combo

Alligator gars are very different from spotted gars, and redtail cats are very different from TSN's.

I certainly understand that they are very different fish, yet in the same respect, they are very similar fish. I was just simply stating that I had very good luck with my paticular combo of gars and cats. Thats all. My two cents.

yeah, i understand what you are trying to say, but it's really not comparable at all...gator gars are immensely different from all the other gar species, particularly in growth rate and demeanor, RTC's are also quite different from TSN's...neither of these comparisons are even the same genus, merely the same family. your combo will likely work for you for some time, unless the TSN vastly outgrows your FL gar (which is very likely) and may try to eat it.

the RTC and gator gar combo is very different and ill-advised--

could this combo be done at larger sizes? like 3' or more...or would a gars catfish feddish take over and the gator would kill the rtc?
