NICE!!! Look at those 2 little monsters :headbang2
Keep us updated... You could do a thread in the media section and call it "dual monsters" or something and keep us updated with growth rate pics etc...

Awesome :naughty:. . Im planing on building a pond for them. I have a 15' x 12' space, would that be enough ? How much depth and what sort of filtration would I need ?

A vid of most of my fish I took the day I got the gars :)

i wouldn't put the delhezi with them, maybe ok at the moment but the del will top out at 12"-14" and will prob be eaten way before then as the gator gars growth rate is a lot faster ! i have seen an article with some 4 ft plus gators and various other monster fish but the tank was over 4000 gals

I think the tank size is key.

I put my 36" alligator gar in with 3 Redtail cats (36"-48") last September in the 52k and have not had a problem but this is largely due to the different levels they swim in the tank.

The rtc generally swims in the bottom 6 feet of water and the alligator gar in the top 2 feet (9 foot deep tank) unless hunting cichlids.

The only fish that tried to eat the gar the first 2 months was the Wallago leerii.
