RTC and Tire Track Eel

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
RTC's are rather strange members of the fish world....

Not really all that tough....

Not a single mean bone in thier bodies...

HOWEVER....

read the second line in my signiture VERY carefully...if your going to keep a RTC then you need to know this and live by it.....

Considering CK's can get very tall, I doubt a RTC would eat a LARGE CK. Considering if the CK was given a head start in size.

Completely wrong. I forget where I saw this, but someone on one of these fish forums posted a picture of his Redtailed Catfish with a 22 inch Clown Knife in it's mouth. The fishes name was Ming and the owner thought that never in a million years would that happen. He was wrong.

However, CK's do get 3ft. Imagne a 3ft Clown Knife trying to get absorbed by a 3ft RTC. Probably wont work. That CK would also be 1ft or higher in its maximum height.

i have seen 36" tire track eels at my local fish store. not for sale.dam!!! and of course seen 5-6 foot rtcs. you do the math. i have both these fish and no they dont live together and never will. my redtail cat is eating whole raw turkey necks, liver, heart, etc.(thanksgiving):)he is about 30" and is 5 years old. good luck.
