RTC ate and puked, now my tank is messed up. What else do I do?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would say do 50% then 25% changes but add filter primer between changes.
feed same quantity of food but in smaller pieces and one piece at a time over a few mins once the fish starts to lose interest stop feeding also dont be afraid to give smaller meals if the fish has good body shape and is not losing weight.

Some of my cats wouldn't lose interest until they are reminiscent of bowling balls, primed and ready to puke at will! But, yeah, smaller meals can help. However, a spooked cat may decide to puke even if it was a small meal.

After so many water changes I have never seen my water so pristine, even with these messy kitties! I pulled back to one shrimp per day, starting last night ( i fasted him since he puked), instead of one big meal every few days. He just went thru a growth spurt, and looked lean to me, hence the larger meals. But after I fed last night he still swam around hungry looking but I was content when he settled back in his corner. For some reason I never thought about much smaller pieces, but i shredded that piece so much I was able to make it last about 3 minutes. And now he knows that if he swims all the way to the top, he gets the goods. I snapped some pics of him today at lunch and will get them uploaded to maybe see if I can get ya'lls opinions on the amount I should feed based on his size. I don't want him to explode again. lol. He's pretty fearless too. He never scares. (knock on wood). He's become such a goober in the last two weeks. He wont eat live either. (knock again) Weird. he only likes dead frozen stuff.
