Or ponds. Even with spacious space (lol), rtc won't bother other fish that usually endup as menu. My clarias, barramundi, java barb, etc, she left them alone. But reminder, never left rtc starving, that's how you lose tank mates.

Most usually RTC aggression is observed at small size of up to 4" or some such and then it subsides. But in small tanks when they are always in each other's face, the aggression may go on. The next spike in aggression may come upon sexual maturation.
I totally agree with the large enclosure comments. I have 9 RTC in a 4500 gal and they are ok with each other. Sure there is a pecking order but no significant injuries.
