I'm struggling to think of anything outside the big pim family! What's the rest of your intended stocking? Clarius cats might be an option, pictured my 2 below, motled and albino look great and they're quite active fish at all times of day.

Thoses Clarious look really good! where do you find these kinda cats, all my LFS stock the smaller stuff.

I love the shape of the RTC head and mouth, they look so cool

The rest of my stock is TBC. The tank has arrived this week and i am now trying really hard to make some decisions. The likely stock will be a pair of Rotkiel Sevs, I already have three Synodontis to house but they are only 6-7 inches a piece, thats as far as ive got!

Found them in a couple of my lfs middle of last year, they appear for sale occasionally, not legal in most of the US so they don't put much of an appearance on here. Don't know how well they'll get along with synos, have heard they can decide to take bites out of other fish but my 2 never have. Will come to the surface for pellets too. They're both about 12" now and have slowed down in growth, i think they're supposed to max out around 18". Can be escape artists so keep a good lid!

I'd say Sun Cat mine is really cool. He hides a lot but every now and then he'll come out with the lights on and swim around. When he does hide I can still see him though, he likes to stare at me from his pipe.
Gulpers are as monster as they come IMO, not too huge but plenty of appetite and personality

4 line pims are a great cat that are playful and don't get nearly as big as the ones that you've mentioned. They are one of my favorite!

Clarias is the best suggestion yet,you wont be dissapointed.Id get one in a heatbeat if they were legal here.Just cover the tank well as they are jumpers and can move on the ground welll enough to hide in weird places.

if ur looking for something impressive, maybe a tigrinus? i dont think they get nearly as big as an rtc but they are cool looking catfish. the only thing is i dont know how availabe they are in your area. IME they have always been harder to come by than your average rtc or tsn
