Lmfao dude, go do some research. I live in South Florida, and on top of being an angler. I walk 50 yards from my house to go catch cichla.

Even the fwc's website mentions that their introduction was to control tilapia too. Ironically there's even more cichlids around these days. Saw some mayan cichlids swimming around in brackish water alongside juvenile mangrove snappers down in black point and I lol'ed

Man you can't give away an rtc where I'm at. Watched a CL add one time that started at $100 for a 12+ rtc and every week it got lower and lower till the guy said free to good home lol.

Looks like few posters just did their research and they told you same thing: they released cichla to control the cichlids ....so why didn't you research?

Oh no! Another big, beautiful, colorful, exotic fish with the potential to become a fun sport and food fish! Ban it!

Hey FL, send us your iguanas, oscars, peacockbass, and clown knives. I promise I won't whine.

Idk where you're getting your info from dude, but you should look into getting a better source.

Start reading from: Means Of Introduction, and you will see that you weren't wrong per say, but you will see that they PRIMARILY brought them as a sport fish.
