My RTC 1 year 5 months at 27". Got him at 1". Don't know that he can swallow a kid, but I bet he can swallow a carfish. JK, but yeah they get huge, but it would take a real monster to swallow a kid. I've noticed the bigger they are the less they look at eating thing similar in size to themselves. Small ones are generally the ones that will go after something similar in size to themselves. They mellow out when they are larger. Seem more territorial than anything at a larger size. That's why they need lots of space. As for paroons, IDK, but I still need to get some!
pics of two rtc. the current world record, then the largest seen recently at 150 lbs, and an artc just for comparison which is 193 lbs. I don't think even it could actually eat someone, although with their temperment would be more likely to try.
