RTC Growth??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So if your going to have a RTC and a TSN do you have to buy them at the same size or does the TSN have to be a little bigger to start with so one will not eat the other later?

well personally my RTCS are quite a lot bigger than my TSNS and nothing has happened. if i were u i would try and get slightly bigger TSNS because since RTCS have fat bodies they will be harder to swallow compared to a thin TSN. good luck ;) btw...instead of buying a TSN i would reccomend the hybrid between RTC and TSN because they are more personable and attractive. TSNS can be very skittish and unfriendly towards humans.

I agree  Nothing beats a good old fashion RTC but a RTC X TSN comes pretty close :D

I'm about ready to give up on my TSN's. They just dont have enough personality to warrant the expense and hassle of keeping. They are tolerable when small but when they get bigger they get a nasty attitude.

JMO of course........

lol, I think tsn in very large aquaria are ok. Mine seem to do fine with my rtc, jau, channel, ect. Mine are just as lazy as the RTC. The jau has them all beat with laziness though. He does nothing unless you put food in the water. I can pick him up and move him in the water when doing maintenance. TSN imo are just skittish. They should have a huge tank just so that when they dash around they don't break their nose.

yeh not surprisingly after i put my tigers in the pond they have become much more active. especially compared to the fat RTCs and the CKs who like to hide heaps during the day. it is much more enjoyable to view them from a more natural environment (ie. pond) than an enclosed tank where all they did was eat and sleep.
