anyone else have a rtc that eats and eats and eats. he could probable eat a hole pack of sliver sides in one feeding. he once ate like 6 or 7 lil blue gills and his stomach was a blimp lol

yeah be careful with this. I worked at a store that had a 3 foot rtc. They put him with a 1 foot midas thinking it would be fine. Until he tried to swallow the midas whole. We could only pull the tail out of his mouth and in the end he choked and died.

Don't keep feeding the rtc because they are opportunistic eaters. They believe in their mind that they have to eat every single thing that is placed in front of them because they might not see food for a long time. Just feed him until his belly is full, not bloated. They will literally eat themselves to death if feeding is continued in that sitting. That, or they will throw up all of the contents during the night and potentially kill everything in the tank with an ammonia spike. I only feed mine every other day.
I had one that over ate himself and choked and died. It sucked.... Now my new one I have to watch.

mine does pretty well i feed him once a day and at 6 inches he eats about 9-12 krill shimp. but what ever is left the other fish take. haha hes a garbage disposal
