I don't have a "nightlight" for him, would it be best to ass a blue colored light for night time? Of course the right type of light but I only have one for the day then it's pitch black at night and no lights at all. But I'll have to try feeding at night!

The shrimp, if I understand it correctly, is better with the shell-on and raw (I bought mine frozen from Aldi). It is the shell that contains the needed red pigment. Same with krill.

Shrimp feed should do the same (pelleted foods used to feed shrimps at the shrimp farms) but I, for one, have not found a ready source of that yet.

Just don't offer anything else but shrimp and he will eat it just as much as anything else. You got him used to treats so he is holding out for them or for whatever he likes atm.

Well I'll have to try it! About the light, he has never had one. Would it be best to keep him off of one or go ahead and get him used to one now? When I turn the light off within 5 min he's out and about. I don't think he really needs one?
