Well hopefully your plans all work out for you :)

But, just so you know, a lot of people here do get their fishes final home ready long before they even own them...

Heck, i bought my 200G for my baby fahaka before i ever even saw her for sale at 1.5" and she went straight into the 200G by herself

depends on the cats... my hybrid and tsn fought multiple times and at one point I was considering splitting them from the aggression.. the good thing is they usually outgrow this aggression around 12"+ so 4monthes or so. will one eat the other? not likely, but is it possible one will kill the other? imo absolutely. depending on the tank-size its very possible. they need plenty of space/hide spots to claim at that size to co-habitate well and not constantly beat each other up. They are also at a stage in their life they will almost constantly feed/be hungry and imo this is the root of the aggression.

Up to 4"-5", RTCs are territorial. Most usually, it stops after that. Just give them both enough room so each has what it considers his territory + hidey-hole(s). There will be established a pecking order in a small tank though and enforced, normally not viciously, just so that it is known.

If one insulates it really thorough, like Ted did in Seattle (anythingfish.com), it does not take much power at all.
