RTC in 10gal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yep, I did the same with my new 210. Added all the new media to my sump on the 450 for a weekend while I sat up the 210. Then took that and a little extra media from sump on the 450 and tossed it in the 210's sump. Had my RTC in the next day with trace ammonia the first night...but all cleared up the next morning. No issues with the RTC.

I have a bunch of hob's as well and just toss the media in the sump when I'm not using them. Then if I ever need a hospital tank, the empty 55 in the garage is ready to go.

I took all 3 HOBs and put them on the 125 and moved in the RTC tonight. All seams well. Ill test the water tomorrow morning and see how its doing

Got to say when i saw the title,i though OMG!
But it got everyone attention lol.

How is the little guy?

haha ya That what I was trying to do. shocking title to draw u all in. I tested the water this morning had no ammonia. did a small water change anyway just to keep ahead of it..better safe than sorry. Currently hes doing well. just sits in a corner behind one of the pumps which worried me. So i turned the moon light off came back in about 2hrs and he was in the same place but with a big stomach so I assume he made a meal out of a few of the minnows that were cycling the tank. I kept the light off and saw him swiming around the tank a bit. I always heard how fast they grow but its still amazing bought him when he was about 2.5" long 2.5 weeks ago and hes already over 4!

Got mine that size in November...it's pushing 2' now.

i got mine at that size and a month later got killed at 6" by some 'helpfull' roomates...the were so nice by feeding my fish while i was away for the weekend and crashed my tank...they caused a $300 fish loss that weekend...
