haa ha do u have a rtc at the moment then?? has it got too big, he long u owned him??

i would never buy a rtc unless i had a pond first. im thinking of building a pond for some rays - and i have two 6ft tanks and a 5ft at a friends house i'd like to get back! no more room in the living room with my other tanks :(

Your talking serious money on heating bills! if were to do it electric elements wouldn't be the way to go. Reverse cycle/ heat pump Ac coil or gas boiler. Would have to have a roof on it with well insulated Walls ( 2 " polystyrene/ cavity insulation. Un less you do what the dope growers do and feed before the meter

lol

as far as insulation goes celotex is the way to go- you dont need to build a second wall for cavity. or the cheaper option is to fix 2x4 timbers uprite on the internal wall at 600mm intervals. you can fit 150/170mm glassfibre quilt in between wall and plywood effectively making a cavity.

DONT use polystyrene as its insulation value is weak compared to other types of insulation on the market.... i know, insulation is my itchy day job

Poly is cheap compared to kings span etc. Can you imagine an out door temp of -10 trying to keep 1500 g of water at 25 degrees, ouch! If you put a green house over it , you wouldn't see the pond for condensation. TK1 seems to have the solution
