This photo was posted on a facebook group im a part of. it was taken at a fish shop near Pittsburg called Aqua-World Pet Supercenter. I hope someone on here has enough room for him and is close enough to save him.

Ive seen that guy atleast 3 times in person, they want $350 for him lol...hes been there for the past 4-5yrs probably longer. Cramped quarters, but most people cant keep a rtc alive for that long in general so u have to give them that...

they need to give him to someone that has a pond... that's just cruel that hes been in that tank for that long

Solitary confinement. He's in the hole. Must be viscous individual, along with the chicklet it's housed with. I thought they would only grow up to the size of the tank? So you mean to tell me that an Oscar can't live out its life in a ten gallon tank? It's like putting a kid into a closet and telling them they have enough room to live a happy , wonderful life!!! But I feed it well!!! Lol!!! Another fish bought on a whim because it was soooo cute, now forced to live in cramped quarters through no fault of its own. Sad.

It does look good from that photo.

Perhaps, publicity of the "doubtful" kind can make the owners change their mind. Albeit I am dubious. One day, I think, the law will catch up to include "cruelty to fish". Then and only then one could do something about it, IMHO.

Many shop owners feel they need to have an attractant, a bait, a lure and it does work for them. This RTC may be it. For every hobbyist who knows what he/she sees, there are 1000 that don't. So the ratio is very heavy in the owners' favor.

I don't doubt in some states that may happen some day. The biggest problem with it is, who gets to decide what is an adequate sized aquarium? If they have any sense at all it will be me. :D
