Hey Ppl.. I've just got a 3 inch Baby RTC.. What can I feed him? He takes blood worms.. I havent picked him yet and I should in a couple of hours.. I fed him some blood worms at the lfs yday and he seems fine.. what else could i feed him? He'll be in a 50 gallon growout with some baby oscars for the time being.. please let me know..cheers..

@perfect - the oscars are as big as the RTC mate.. still? Well I got a couple of ponds a home so that should be enough and i dont mind if he does eat the fish in there

id move the RTC by the time there the same size since this always happens..RTC eats the same size to smaller fish with its huge mouth and they got a lot of appetite and they should get bloodworms earthworms feeder goldfish etc
@haywood - hey thanks mate.. i did have a go thru your thread.. very interesting read and informative.. I'm fully aware of their potential and the monster size they can reach.. just wanna give them the proper care.. thats it.. thanks again..
ya check out the sticky about so you want to keep rtc. it clears everything up. he should love the pond, as long as it is 6x6x3. when they are small it is recomended that you start them on cichlid pellets until they are 6-8 inches long then start them on massivore. they can eat blood worms earthworms(chopped) and other bugs and small feeders at all stages of their lives. they will try and eat anything edible!!! they can easily eat a fish 2/3 of their size, but will try for one their same size. enjoy your rtc man!!!
