Hello everyone. I have another question. We just noticed that my redtail we just bought (who is only and inch or so big) is missing one of his pectoral fins. He doesn't have a scab or anything. It just looks like he was born without it. Has anyone heard of this or seen this? Should I be worried?

I've had him for about 2 months and he is doing amazing. He eats like a cow and he's only 2 inches big. I love him.

then i wouldnt worry to much about it. i might worry if he has swimming problems down the road though.

When we first got him he had trouble swimming up to the surface to get food because of the filter current but now he darts all around the tank like nothing could stop him. I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this. It looks as if he was born with out it b/c there is no scab or scar mark where it is suppose to be.

Seems like he will be fine, they swim around on the bottom most of the time anyways and they have a wide body to help with simming stability.

He will be fine! I have a baby also about 4" he is soooooo cute!!!! but I'm in love with my 22" rtc he has the best personality!!!

Oh yeah back to the fin. I've had other fish with similar issues and they adapt. my gar has a folded fin and I feel bad but he gets around wonderfully. Like I said they adapt. Good Luck

He will be ok. I have a syno who has no fins. He looks like turd floating in the water. But when dinner time comes, hes in with the big fish getting food. :)
