If it were me then i'd go 3.0x1.5x1.0 deep, loads of space and lots of room for it to turn around at the ends but without the weight and expense of really really thick glass.

If u do go with that size as a pond u could make the pond have a glass front view. That's my plan once I find a house with a good sized basement. My goal is building a indoor pond at least 2500 gallons to fit my cats and aros. Just hope it falls through in the future for me. Anyways GL on your DIY tank or pond. Which ever route u go with it will benifit your RTC with a long happy life
