p.nigers are good cleaners, i had one in my 600 for a while and would always clean up the mess my barbs would make.
as said, an RTC will in the end eat pretty much anything. i hope to own one again someday, if i ever build a pond or something. the last one i had one day decided that it liked eati\ng tankmates more than anything else and i lost 1/3 of the fish in that tank in 2 weeks before i could sell him. awsome fish though.
