My RTC is a few months old and for the life of me i cant get him to eat anything but omnivore pellets, ive tried feeding crickets, shrimp, frozen smelt, earthworms everything, most of the time he wont touch anything except the omnivore pellets, when i dropped the earthworms in however he died gulp them up, however a few minutes later he threw them up. Any suggestions as to how to get him to try and eat other things?

Fast him for a few days and then only drop in one earthworm. See if he eats it and if it stays down.
worms work for me when the fish go on a fast and dont want to eat anything. the worms seem to kick start them back in to feeding
cant say that i have had this problem with mine yet, wish he would go on a fast... LoL! i would agree with everyone else's comments about not feeding him for a couple of days and see how he responds to that....

Uh yeah. Like, if he is used to eating every single day, make sure there is nothing in your tank he can dismantle and try to eat. My rtcxtsn ate a glass thermometer that I dropped in for a quick reading. Fortunately, he puked it up whole a couple days later.
yes starve for a couple of days or a week
