RTC will only eat one kind of food, help please

Mine loved earthworms when he was about 12in to 16in. And he took to Tilapia filets right away, I have never had a problem with feeding mine. I have two new babies that took to frozen shrimp cubes right away...I would have thought starving him fora few days would have done the trick though

yes starve for a couple of days or a week
they can survive in the wild for 2 weeks without food
trying to make him eat will only dirty your water

They can live for months without food actually...

Test every parameter of the water and do not attempt to feed for 2-3weeks,

I suspect ther may be a ph problem or maybe nitrite or ammonia, get the tank stable, keep changing the water and the try to feed in a few weeks.

The fish likes his pellets lol. Mine loves beefheart. What I do, is I'll let it thaw in a container of water for like 5 minutes and I'll take my finger and sorta break it up a little and then drop it in. A few seconds later, he comes flying out of his cave and devours it....literally lol. But yeah, I've had the same luck as u have and u know what. As long as the fish is eating, im cool with it. I've had fish that havent eaten and trying to get them to eat 10 different types of foods is a pain and is very frustrating cuz you're thinking, does he like pellets or frozen, is it the water, is he stressed? And the list goes on unfortunately, Bottom line, fish is eating and growing=lol
