I get home from work and my 13" rtcxtsn is crooked.. hes in a 210 grow out with a 12" Oscar and a 7" wyckii. Never had any problems in 3 months with agression.. Was going to transfer to a pond when he got a little bigger but I'm not sure if he will make it. I'm not sure if he broke his back or has something stuck (bone from a filet?) in his stomach... any advice on how to save him? He can't swim at all.

Maybe a broken back if it’s not swimming. Could be anything. Would reduce stress and give it a few days and reassess. Any issues with the Wyckii? Can you separate the wyckii and Oscar?

It cannot swim. I'll seperate them today. No issues with the wyckii being aggressive unless a fish swims within 2 inches of its face. But still it's usually just a nip. I'll give it a couple days and see what happens. If no change I'll see about taking it out and feeling around to see if I can feel anything out of place then go from there. Thanks

Sounds like a bad cramp. Could it be an internal parasite or an electric shock? Do you have any appliances in the tank water? If so, there could be some leakage current. It's been known to happen before.

No stray voltage in the tank. It's still having trouble. Not any better since the first day. I'll get it out later and try to feel anything out of place. I wouldn't think he has a parasite since it happened over night with no other signs. My only guess is that the Oscar must have done something. Just wouldn't think he would be able to break a catfishes back.. I'll keep this thread updated. Thanks guys

Just to add that he is breathing fine and responsive like normal. Just is stuck sideways and cant swim.

When I had my Wyckii I noticed what you noticed during the day but at night it was like he seeked out any other catfish in the tank ignoring my characins and bichirs. I don’t think the Oscar is the culprit if it’s from aggression.
