What fish have you tried? my TSN was Increadably picky for monthes.... he only ate live feeders at first... then he'd take some frozen... then he'd refuse frozen... now he'll eat nightcrawlers and smelt but nothing else... tbh i'm happy if he takes these 2 foods for the rest of his life.. but try a few different types of fish ( I found fw fish to work best and whole if you can find them, salomon is almost unresistable ime but very oily and best fed the day before a water change ect) only my hybrid will eat anything.... rest of my fish are all spoiled rotten!..
personally I think live feeder fish would be better for him then chicken/beefheart. depends how you feel about the whole live vs dead ect stuff.
Also have to say I added my hybrid in w/ my TSN when he was about 8"? to my TSN's 10"?... they squabbled in the 40 a few times nothing major.. and I moved them inot the pool at the same time ect... so they grew up together a good 6"
