rhode island of course
my redtail cat is breathing kinda heavy.. my water is fine and he is eating like a champ... he isnt that active though he just sits in teh corner.. i have plants in the tank if i take them out do u thik hell move around more....

He may be breathing heavy because he had a large meal. Mine always used to do that. As far as the plants are concerned i dont think it would change his ehavior much. Mine only were active when they were hungry, or when there was ood in the tank.

try dimming the lights in the tank i know you have plants but just to see what i mean, cats prefer dim light if none they're bottom feeders so they like in on the dark side no star wars pun intended :) you might find your self removing the plants and lowering the light to make yout rtc comfy, also aready said heavy eater heavy breathers they require lots of airation.

yeah my filtration is fine its a 45 gal for now with an aquaclear 110.. no real filtration and they are low light plants its the bulb that came with the fixture so i dont think its the light...

all my cats when they eat alot they breath hard. u should be fine. does he do it when he is not full

sure it's just full

yeah it probbaly just ate a full meal and is just breathing harder with all that stuff crammed in it

How large is the rtc? They prefer a large amount of dissolved oxygen? If the hard breathing is not after a meal it is abnormal.

your fish will remove those plants for you soon as it gets older. it also because could your water is too warm or your amonia level is up..? But i think its's ok.:cool-1:
