I HAVE FLATHEAD CAT 22lb like the one in my pic how long can i keep a rtc in a 75 till it need more room my lfs has a 4in one for $19 thanks im new here love this site thanks for any help

If he's 4 inches now, you could keep him there two or three months, tops, when he reaches 12 inches. That's the largest I'd allow him to get in such a small tank, and the filtration is going to have to be massive. Think ten times volume per hour. What are your plans after he grows too large? If you don't plan to accommodate his ultimate size, don't buy him. It's very difficult to get rid of these fish once they've grown to a foot or so. He'll ultimately reach about four feet and need something in the range of a thousand gallons. If you're willing to accommodate him, though, I'd say do it. They're amazing fish, and so worth it if you're willing to do what they need.

I WILL BE GETING SOMETHING big i have my flathead in it now just trying to find out how long i have thanks for the help

You have a 22lb fish in a 75?

no he is in 600 gal tank but i have a 75 for the rtc till i get something bigger im thinking of finding a home for the flathead:( and the rtc will go in the big tank but it is just4 in now so i was trying find out how long i had till it get to big for the 75

Well, you wouldn't have long in the 75. And the 600 might not be large enough, eventually. Depending on its dimensions, it could last a long time, though.

whats the length of your flathead?

Ohhh. Lol, you scared me for a second there....

3'' to 20'' in 8 months. expect the rtc to grow 2' in the first year. it will slow down after that.
