get a cheap stock tank. They sell them at many farm stores. WOrks very well for catfish and they have some up to 9' diameter which is 1000 gallons and it costs like 200 bucks!
 
it would be sweet if you could keep both-looking at your avatar your flathead looks like a nice looking fish
 
He dosen't have to grow that fast. I'm not saying starve him, but you don't have to grow him right out of the tank. If you give him good water quality, superb filtration, frequent water changes, High quality food's, and a restricted diet. You will still have a very healthy rtc. And if you keep him by himself he will have a calmer disposition. So if you have the adequete filtration and care, than you can grow him larger in the tank than if he was with tankmates.
 
That would be great to see pic's of the flathead in the 600g. Is he very active or does he kinda just lay around for the most part.

dude! please post the 600 with the flathead. i just have one question? does it take feeders? 2lb bluegill destroyers!!!!!!
 
FLATHEAD IS OUT OF TANK BUT I THINK I HAVE pics i love flatheads i have a 2 inch one in a 10 gal thay are true monsters of the mississippi river we get big ones in the rock river in ill the bigest this year was 55lb thay are :irked: fish we get them on big gills and carp but thay all go back in the river
