Well since the width is 2', he'll need good turning so I'd say he would have to go into a bigger tank at around 18-20". Speed in growth also depends on diet.
hey bro have you got the tank running yet? I wold give him 1- 2 years and he will need a bigger tank!
A year and a half two years tops. The rtc in my avat.was 15 inches when I got him. One year later he is close to 30 inches. Gets fed every day,minimum w.c. of 50% every week,water temp about 75--77 degrees. Housed in an 8 x 6 x 3 pond with 2500 gallons and hour water turnover..
not yet man still sitting in the back yard in the process of moving but it will be up and running as soon as i move in
A few years ago I had a baby I got at about an inch, kept in a 40B. Once it hit around 4" it seemed like it grew about an inch a week until it hit 8" or 9" and slowed back down a little. I was able to keep it in the 40B for almost a year before it outgrew it, so you should be able to get at about 2 years out of the 225.
(mine went to a 240 after the 40B, then eventually to a 6' x 8' indoor pond)
