RTC's and Oscar's

Had many RTC and never had one eat an oscar.
As long as you get a smaller redtail and a full grown oscar I think you would be okay. Most of my fish respect the RTC, except the dovii and he demolishes the RTC if he gets close to his rock LOL

if it can get big enough to eat a small child, then I'd say a rtc will not mix with any cichlid, no matter how aggro

Sure u can mix them, if your RTC is smaller than yr oscar....
but, i think not too long both of them can mix well....

Oscars are more of a sluggish push over. They will act aggressive if need be, but they would rather slosh around. On another note, it can be done. Not practical for very many people, but johnptc has a large RTC with many smaller fish under 1.5ft.
