RTC, TSN, and hybrids there of die early because 99.9% of owners are not equipped to properly care for a massive fish for the decades it could live.

If you build it a 10,000+ gallon home and care for it very well, you can join that 0.1% that has it live a long happy life.

I haven't seen anybody ever mention anything about hybrids being more susceptible to disease or sudden death, can you link some threads where people told you that? I'm just curious because I've always seen the exact opposite in regards to hybrids of these cats.

I myself have kept hybrids(RTC/TSN and TSN/Achara) and never experienced any problems, they where every bit as hardy as RTC's, TSN's and Achara's that I had. The only reason that I could see for sudden death or disease problems is improper keeping of the fish in inadequate accommodations and in that case most fish regardless of being hybrids or not would be susceptible to both.

TlKmDn stated on his youtube channel that many pass away early due to genetics... I also read it on here earlier... I forget exactly what thread... I THINK it was necrocanis thread with monster catfishes care... (The sticky...)

I am 100% with Koltsixx and Yoimbrian. Nothing more to say.

They should be expected to live 30 years in captivity (much longer is known in the wild), give or take... ~ same as both their parents.

Hybrids do face some unpredictability when it comes to longevity sometimes. It's a genetic thing. I dont know if it affects RTC/TSN crosses in particular, but in some cases, it does.
