Great HBRTG!

I wish it was a high back, but alas it isn't.

I moved his tank across the room while i was replacing the carpet with laminate. One more move into a permanent position and then I plan to start planting this tank and taking pics again.

JayDial, I'll see what i can do in a bigger resolution. :)

Hey,

I have to know what kind of camera gear you are using. Camera, lenses, flashes, etc. Also, assuming you are editing the pictures a tad, what program(s) are you using?

Thanks,

Josh

I shoot with a Nikon D300 and 2 or 3 SB600 flashes fired remotely above the tank. I've used a Sigma 28mm f/1.8 and a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 to shoot this fish.
With the size of the flank of this fish, I use a little more fill flash off the camera than I normally like, and thats' why there's a slight shadow behind the fish. I use CS3 for editing and resizing. I underexpose the shot just slightly to avoid flashburn and lighten the pic a little using CS3. Otherwise what you see in the pic is what you would see standing in front of the tank.

Awesome photos, shows what the kits capable of if you know how to use it and i'm very impressed (work in a camera shop in the UK and never see that high quality images coming through)

And of course the Aro is stunning, nice work :D

Thanks, gents! :D I"m moving his tank into a permanent place tonight and then I'm starting to add more plants. :headbang2In a couple of months (hopefully) I'll be adding a couple of smaller ornate bichirs and a teugelsi bichir to go along witht he larger ornate this dude shares his tank with. Just gotta grow them out a bit more.

With this level of shine I call it a high back...great fish and more amazing pics...keep them coming :)
