Hi. My RTG seems to be developing some sort of a scale rot. It started three days ago with one scale rotting/turning white near the edge and now it covers one whole scale and it seems to be spreading to the other scales as well. I searched the internet for this condition but it seems i cannot find any information to what is happening to my RTG. My RTG is about 14 inches and I bought it a year ago. It is only this time that I experienced this with its scales.

Tks for the help guys.

I would start doing water changes and add salt to tank. Right away. Water change every other day. See if it improves or not. Hopefully just poor water quality. Do the fish still have an appetite?

It could be from the flag tail sucking the slime coat off the aro. They are notorious for that.

Looks like physical damage to me, perhaps it jumped and hit the brace of the tank? Keep the water clean and warm and keep an eye on it.

I agree with the first two guys You need to do water changes and the flag tail Is probabley sucking the slime coat of your arow so I would move the flagtail and add extra salt I Hope it gets better but if you do not move the other fish until it has a chance to heal I do not think it will get better,I say this from experience i had my flagtail kill fish in my tanks before the same way

ok tks jsodwi. did a 30 pct water change today and added salt. hoping for the best ! the fish still has appetite and moving around well on the top of the tank ...

Yeah looks like phsyical damage to me too.

Looks like my Silver Arowana when someone gives him a beating.

the damage was probably from the return pipe but im not sure. now theres some parts that i see becoming red. hope the water change and salt fix the problem. tks bones !
