As soon as I turn off all the lights in the fishroom and leave theirs on, most of the fish head for cover. They know something is up. Nonetheless, this should give you an idea....I replaced the air wand on the right with one of the air discs. The bichirs and cats wouldn't leave the wand alone.....

the tank is 8x3x2. I'm running 4 hagen T8 powerglo bulbs. I do plan on getting a few more plants in there but between the current and the bichirs and cats, I'm limited on where I can place them.
