The Grotto
Hi everyone, This is my Rio Blanco RTM pair in a 55 getting ready to do the deed again;) They are both now 4.5" or so and starting to pack on the wieght lol. I have now removed the first batch of fry to a different tank and in this first video you can see the pair getting friendly...lol then i decided to upgrade them into a 75 before they spawned, which was a good move at the time because the day after i did so they did spawn. now in the second video you might be able to see the female under the large rock in her pot fanning the eggs but it was pretty dark in there. so i went with the male patrolling the tank instead:grinno: there isnt any aggression at all with them. Im hoping even though they are spawning consistantly that the tank upgrade will help them hit another growth spurt. otherwise ill have to divide them after this spawn to get some more size on them... we'll see cause im not too sure im in a hurry to grow them really large yet:popcorn:

startin to look real good, like i said before they are just as bad as convicts with the spawning ... good luck with them..
 
Thank you everyone for the nice comments:) and yes im sure theyll spawn as frequently as cons. I am curious to how my male will turn out in the next few months, he looks slightly different than the copan strain.... But either way i am very pleased with this pair:)
 
Very nice looking pair. Yeah, when I had my pair they were as prolific as cons. You are doing a great jod with them they are very clean and healthy looking.

Thank you and now that i have a lil more time to myself since ive been able to settle into my new place ill be able to get caught back up on more frequent water changes;)

Thany you very much:D as of right now other than some lingering dovii fry, the RTMs are the only Parachromis im keeping for a while untill i get some tanks free'd up down the road.

Thank you Tom, I really appreciate it:) the males lip is almost completely healed up from the initial pairing out, just another layer or two of skin and he'll be all good. i wish he would keep his hump longer than during spawning tho
