So I'm fairly new to the hobby and after searching all over the internet I have a question that I haven't seen answered.
I have a 55 gal tank and knew that I wanted to get a redtail black shark, but when I went to my local aquarium store, the guy recommended that I buy two of them because he said that they tend to get overly stressed if they are transported by themselves. I probably should have done a bit more research, but long story short I have two RTS and they seem to be doing great. I see a little bit of aggression from time to time, but for the most part they are friendly towards one another and they are showing great color. This leads me to believe there isn't much of an issue. I've had them now for about six months.
Anyway my question is that occasionally I see them doing what I call "a little dance" with one another. They kind of twitch in little burts every half second or so. It doesn't look dangerous or anything, and I have yet to have any serious issues with water quality or anything, so I was curious if maybe this was some sort of mating display or something? They both do it next to each other for maybe 5 seconds and then swim off in their separate ways... Anyone have any ideas?
I'm going to try and see if I can grab a video and post it later tonight. Thanks!
