rubber bands in the fish tank?

I use them all the time! i never had a problem. They don't look that nice in the tank but they are helpful when it comes to attaching plants and sinking drift wood.

I know that your not planning on using them for tieing down plants but I find fishing line is great for tieing down plants on things. But in repair go for it and use the rubber bands.

Over time I have found that they will eventually fall apart. I would use zip ties.
