OK this has got me going both of my 300 gals are leaking at the drain. there are a gasket at both sides. i put thread tape on threads tightened the nut leak then backed the nut off and tightened the nut leaked tried a different gasket for the inner side of the tub leaked. what am i doing wrong? do i have the nut on the wrong way? is the plug suppose to go on the inside of the tub. i am hot !!:nilly:

outta the 7 rubber maids Ive had.. they all leaked when I got them. I used the all glass silicon that you get at home depot.. put it on the threads... and put the drain plug in. And never had anymore problems

mine leaked two when i got home all mine neededd was a little tightning

i used silicon on mine also and it worked
the gaskets they come with are horrible

I never had a problem with mine....

thanks i did not want to resort to silicon but i sure don't want them to leak. hey Brad or Brent did you guy silicon the inside as well especially were that blk. square is?

i siliconed everywhere in side and out then used teflon tape for the threaded portion

hey i got one drain to stop leaking have not tested the other my only concern is that the one that doesn't leak now is not even a quarter way full and say i fill it up with no problem maybe it decides to leak somewhere down the road. maybe i should just silicone the dam thing. i just would like to get one cycling now i have been trying to get this together for ever now. what would you do ?

silicon it its no big deal just a little extra security
use aquarium silicon
