well i siliconed the darn thing in and out on one that leaks and the other just around the nut. one important thing for any one that wants to silicone inside and out is that the silicone has a chemical reaction with the gasket so the gasket becomes soft and expands when you tighten the nut. so i am not sure this is the way to go unless you remove the gaskets.
