I dont like the fact that they cut the top lip of the rubbermaid off and the top of the acrylic is essentially rimless. It would be a much stronger design to leave the lip and a few inches of the container and fully frame the window in. The way it is i think the whole thing will be subject to more flexing and maybe cause problems for the silicone seal. Could be fine for awhile though.

I considered a project like this once with hdpe stock tanks, but ended up taking the easy way out since pentair does it better than i could lol.
