Rubbernose Pleco: Algae eater or plant eater?

I just got one to throw in my loach tank, I am hoping it will help with algae. Am I in luck or pissing into the wind as he eats all my plants?

I have a couple of them, and they don't seem to do any damage to my plants. Mine mostly eat the algae off of the plants.

completely agreed. And they stay small too, up to 5 inches I believe.

They are omni, but they are not plant eaters.

i have 2 of them and they eat lots of algea i dont have any plants so i dont know about that.

I was looking at these fish for my planted tank, but I decided to go with 2 Oto Cats. Cleared my algae problem within 2 days

just algae. otos are nice. you can get the zebra ottos too, if your gunna go crazy with the cash
