If for some reason the post reporting feature does not work, use the PM function and send a message with the link to the thread in question to whatever mod you see in the "online users" list. That's an even quicker way to get a response than having a mass e-mail sent out with a post report. When did this happen? If this was a couple of weeks ago, we were undergoing a system-wide upgrade, so we were a little short staffed during that time. The mods can't possibly cull every offending post without the help of the users too.

As an example, if a crime was going on and the police were not there to handle it, would a person not call 911 and report the crime so that they can send someone to the scene? The police do not magically know when a crime occurs, just like the mods don't magically know when an inflammatory issue occurs unless we happen to come across it. Next time, please send a PM and I guarantee you'll get a better response. I'll have one of the admins look into the reported post function.

I understand what you're saying, I'm not trying to flame mods or be a bad guy. I know that this system is less than perfect. I would have made a greater attempt at asking the mods for help but, to be honest, I believe there was an actual mod posting commentary in the thread in question. Point being that apparently that mod didn't see anything wrong with the offending party ruining my buy/sell thread. Make no mistake about it, the SOB ruined my thread for his own satisfaction or profit (I know not which).

I'll PM you with the thread in question.

Oh.. I thought I did read that.. Thats why your A MOD :d anD I'M NOT.. :D So I can make sensable reposts ignorantly and then get the info I need LOL

Thanks again...:)

No worries :). A lot of people, and I'm guilty myself of it sometimes, regard the Rules threads like instructions that come with something...say a piece of furniture you have to put together. It looks easy to do, so the instructions go in the trash and you decide to wing it. All is great until you see a pile of extra parts on the floor and can't fathom what their use is when you think you're done. You grab the instructions out of the trash and say "Oh....that's what those are for." We're so desensitized as to the fact that we "know" the rules so well that we don't even have to read them anymore.

It's good to have threads like this though, because it shows that the members think, rather than let things run amok.

I understand your frustration, especially when it has to do with generation of business and upholding a reputation. For future reference, send me a message being that I'm the moderator who has been handling the general Buy and Sell and Vendor issues lately. If I am not online, I can't guarantee a quick response, but you can be sure I'll review it once I receive the message.

I'll PM you with the thread in question.

OK...I will take a look at it.

If you would look at the rules stated in the stickies above, your gripes listed above are covered. It's up to the users to read and adhere to the rules. Problem is that most users don't even read them. The staff here tries to police threads and enforce the rules as best they can. I've deleted plenty of posts that were out of context. If sellers are so upset with people derailing, trolling, spamming their thread, they'd be best served in reporting the issue to the mods and help the situation, instead of making it worse by getting into skirmishes.

The problem is no-one reads the rules, or they choose to ignore them

Nope no one reads them but it's just general courtesy stuff that you would think people would know.

I did.. Just not as detaitled as i thought. :) And I completely understand the store bought putting together stuff LOL I usually think i've done thsi before and ya,.... Well were in the F*%ck does that bolt go LOL:ROFL:

I think its just ridiculous that someone would even have to read a rule to know that is not the right thing to do. How would those derailers feel if they were trying to sell their little Kia Sophia for $2000.00 and someone came up in a Ford F-350 and blocked their car and put a price tag of $1999.00 on the ford. This is common sense. I went through the same thing. I tried to sell/trade something on here and someone came along and posted where they could get a similar product cheaper. I do not think that person realized what they were doing because that person is actually a very good member. It just didnt click with them to realize they were minimizing my chances for a sale. Good luck trying to stop this issue.

I agree, the rules are overlooked on occasion.
