Running out of sockets

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Power strips, power strips, power strips. If it doesn't overload the socket, you could hook one power strip to another. But just sayin, if you are going to unplug something from a strip, go the extra mile. Hold the strip with one hand and pull the plug out with the other. Don't try to pry the plug out with your fingers. I did that last week and got a pretty bad jolt.

Yes, please use a surge protector. If you hook up an 8 or even a 10 plug surge protector to say the bottom socket you will be fine. It would be no different than say a high quality Home Theater installation. Just please don't plug a 6 socket splitter into another 6 socket splitter or you will find your self resetting your circuit breaker weekly if not daily. Go to RadioShack or Best Buy and find yourself a nice Surge Protector and plug all of your aquarium stuff into that. This will not only keep your breaker from flipping out but it will also protect all of your electrical fish equipment if there is a surge.
