sounds like you got lucky, glad to here surgery isn't required.
Our dog did something similar our vet friend told us to get the dog to drink hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. Might be good to know in case it ever happens again.
That is a good tip, thanks. I got VERY lucky.
I have used the hydrogen peroxide thing with my bulldog. He ate almost 2 lbs of hersey kisses so the vet had me soak a piece of bread with a table spoon of HP, fed it to the dog. Wait 15 minutes and reapeat until he puked. It took 3 times and by the time I handed him the 4th one it took effect and he wanted nothing to do with it.
Glad to hear your dog is ok.
Oh wow, Im glad your dog turned out to be okay. You got really lucky. Hershy kisses are very dangerous. Raisins are also toxic to dogs.
My previous Frenchie ate an entire chicken leg and turned purple. What happen was my girlfriend was carving a chicken and one of the legs slipped off the plate and as soon as it hit the floor he gobbled it. She screams and I run into the kitchen to see my boy on his side struggling to breathe and his lips were purple. Shes yelling "he swallowed a bone" so I open up his mouth and stick my entire hand down his throat and pull this chicken leg out. As soon as I start to pull it out CHOMP on my fingers. Other than a painful bloody hand everybody was ok. We now take extra precautions so this will not happen with our new guy, because Frenchies of food monsters. Thats my choking story.
Glad everything worked out for you Chicklette.
They are fast when it comes to food like that. Im so happy you got the bone out. You got really lucky.
